Review: Speak is a short novel packed filled with tremendous emotions and that dealt with a tragic situation with 14 year old girl Melinda so realistically that it felt real. Melinda Sordino can be an incoming freshman that called the authorities at an end of the summer party before high school graduation started. She is friendless, outcast, since she busted an end-of-summer party by calling the factory workers, so now nobody will talk to her. After that Melinda may be speaking less and a smaller amount, to her parents and to the friends who have abandoned her because she called the cops within a summer party. Her parents will see that something is wrong. They want to assistance their daughter but don't know how to. This book is well written from a teen's viewpoint, you really get inside Melinda's head in such a book, you really accomplish feel Melinda's pain, you just don't know the excuse for it until the end of the book, it's just dumbfounding, how good the author is a doing this, the author does an exceptional job of capturing the essence of high school graduation.
